This original painting is an acrylic 48×60 canvas. On the day I started this painting, I felt like it had been a while since I had picked up a brush. I was a little unmotivated. I decided to challenge myself and paint this large canvas…without using a brush! I went through a lot of gloves as I only used my hands. It was challenging! I discovered that the paint did not move as easily as it did with a brush. I felt like as soon as the paint hit the canvas, it stayed put. It was difficult to spread. I then found myself thinking “gosh, it is going to take a lot to fill this large canvas.” But I kept going as i started to see the painting take shape. Brushless was a completely new experience for me. I find it unique and bold.
